CD-R Disk Containing All Electronic Files Due Last Class
A CD disk containing ALL final versions of project files is due on final critique day. This disk (or disks if you need more than one) should contain the latest version of the electronic files for projects 1 through 4. Be sure and include all fonts used in each project. Also be sure to include any images files linked to InDesign documents (particularly in project 4.)
Presentation of Project 4 for Critique
Please be aware of the following expectations for the presentation of project 4 materials for critique. Students are expected to present full-color mock-ups of their final brochure designs. Students should printout their projects on high quality color printer (no inkjet printouts) then carefully cut their printouts using an xacto blade, assemble or spray-glue sheets together in order to get 2-sided printing, and carefully score and fold down printouts to their final folded size. Pay particular attention to the details of craftsmanship when assembling your printouts for critique. You might want to consider practicing with an extra set of color copies before you try and assemble your final piece. Ragged or roughly cut edges and misaligned folds are considered unacceptable for professional presentation. Expect yourself to be presenting this brochure as if you were a professional designer (not just a student) and expect your professor to view your work as if he were the actual client (not just a teacher.) As a entry-level professional designer you can expect to bill the client at a rate of $50-$75 dollars an hour. Be sure to present work that represents this level of quality. Given that billing rate, it is easy to accumulate hundreds if not thousands of dollars of billable hours. Be sure that your work is worth that much!
Consider the context in which the original brochure was found. If the brochure was found in a box or slotted-container, then the redesigned folded brochure should be able to fit back into that into that same box or slotted-container. However, the redesigned brochure can unfold into a different shape or size than the original.
Be sure and bring the original version of the brochure you selected to your critique.
